This week has the potential for a big exercise week. After my 14-miler on Sunday, which doesn’t count for “this week” I was feeling a little tired. But I woke up on Monday bright eyed and feeling awesome. I did stick to the plan and not go for a run, though I was tempted because it was another gorgeous day. Instead, I had a really productive meeting with a web-design client and then went to Home Depot to get the rebar for anchoring the kids recently relocated play structure.
My plethora of free time should continue at least until Wednesday because my mom is here visiting. She’s spending her time hanging with the kids and stripping wall paper (1970′s orange floral wall paper) from our laundry room walls.
Since she’s such a saint, I’m heading off to the golf course this morning for a 4-mile walk with 25 pounds on my back. Maybe I’ll be able to swing the clubs a bit too! I’m excited for the golf game because I haven’t played in about 6 weeks. I’m hoping that my muscles will forget all those terrible swings I made last time and allow me to make a few good shots before I put the clubs away for the Winter.
Not only will I walk 4 miles today, I’m also scheduled for a 6 mile easy run. This will take place later on in the day, maybe during the kids’ naps, or after they go to bed this evening. But together with the golf and the run, my total mileage for the day should get up to 10. Not bad for one day if I do say so myself.
Then on Wednesday, I’ll head to the gym for after I drop my daughter off at school. Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, I’ll be running with T for a speed workout, an easy run, and a long run in that order.
4 runs, a lifting session, and a round of golf is a pretty good week. Now if only I could figure out a way to get that much activity every week, I’d be on the right track with my exercise requirements.
Mom and Dad, get off your booties and move up here!

Don’t forget, you have to get in a date with your wife, too!
Great effort! And a date with the wife sounds good. Mental note to self to do that too. My one not yours!
